Annika Holder - Interim Director
Annika Holder was appointed Interim Director of the Community Action and Human Services Department (CAHSD) on Aug. 3, 2020.
Ms. Holder began her career with Miami-Dade County in November 2016 as the Assistant Director of CAHSD. Among her many responsibilities in this role, she provided strategic leadership and oversight of social services initiatives and programs.
These programs help:
- The elderly
- Disconnected and court-involved youth
- Veterans
- Migrant farmworkers
- Unemployed and under-employed adults
- Low-income families
- Victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking
Ms. Holder has managed many CAHSD operations. She has been in charge of:
- Quality assurance
- Human resources
- Emergency planning and response
- Community participation
- Marketing and communication
She also oversaw facility operations at 36 sites, including community and senior centers, emergency shelters and transitional housing.
In addition, she worked with numerous federal, state and local agencies to manage more than $30 million in grant-funded programming. She also was responsible for the overall supervision of 275 employees.
Before joining the County, Ms. Holder served as the Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Educational Services for New York City. She has also held director-level roles with the city of Atlanta and New York City Parks and Recreation departments.
Ms. Holder has a master’s degree in urban affairs and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the City University of New York.
