Cat and dog owners that are low-income may be eligible to have their pets spayed or neutered for free. This is possible through a Miami-Dade Animal Services no kill project in partnership with the Humane Society of Greater Miami.

In order to qualify, you must be a Miami-Dade County resident and show proof of one of the following:

  • Food Stamps
  • Medicaid
  • Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
  • Food and Nutrition Services
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

This service is also available for community cats, un-owned cats, who live within the community with no owner. In addition, community cats will receive free a FVRCP vaccine.

This project is very important to reducing the pet overpopulation problem we experience in our community and could greatly reduce the number of pets that enter our shelters.
