Cat and dog owners that are low-income may be eligible to have their pets spayed or neutered for free. This is possible through a Miami-Dade Animal Services no kill project in partnership with the Humane Society of Greater Miami.
In order to qualify, you must be a Miami-Dade County resident and show proof of one of the following:
- Food Stamps
- Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
- Food and Nutrition Services
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
This service is also available for community cats, un-owned cats, who live within the community with no owner. In addition, community cats will receive free a FVRCP vaccine.
This project is very important to reducing the pet overpopulation problem we experience in our community and could greatly reduce the number of pets that enter our shelters.Read about spay/neuter services and schedule an appointment
