Summer fruit festival entertains the whole family

Celebrate the arrival of summer and delicious tropical fruit at the Redland Summer Fruit Festival. Sample fruit, browse or shop displays of local agriculture and tropical fruit plants. Fruit-based treats like smoothies, ice-cream, and other tasty foods like conch fritters will also be available for purchase.

The festival includes a children's area with games, pony rides, a watermelon-eating contest and other fun activities. There will also be expert-led workshops and classes giving tips on growing the best tropical fruit.

Admission is $8 per adult and free for children under age 12.

The festival takes place at at Preston B. Bird/Mary Heinlein Fruit & Spice Park June 23 and 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m
