Fixed pets are healthy pets - free sterilization offer

Sterilizing greatly improves the health of dogs and cats and reduces the number of homeless and unwanted animals in our community.

Miami-Dade County Animal Services is proud to partner with the Miami Veterinary Foundation (MVF) to offer low-cost or free sterilization at several local veterinary providers.

Income-qualified, low-cost or free spay or neuter services offered*:

  • Low cost or free spay or neuter services and rabies vaccination for pets.
  • No limit on the number of pets.

Cat Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) services offered:

  • Free sterilization, vaccinations (including rabies) and ear tip for community cats.
  • Free for everyone. There is no need to show proof of low income.

*Income qualifications for low-cost spay neuter - You will be required to show proof of low income. Acceptable documentation includes: food stamps; Medicaid; Women, Infants and Children (WIC); Food and Nutrition Services; Supplemental Security Income (SSI); and Jackson Memorial Hospital Clinic Care. Bring an actual letter stating that you are currently entitled to the above benefits. Smart cards are not accepted.
