In the United States, more than 70,000 puppies and kittens are born every day as a result of accidental litters. Miami-Dade County Animal Services receives tens of thousands of abandoned pets each year. Be a part of the solution and spay and neuter your pets.

Spayed and neutered cats and dogs are healthier and have less behavioral problems associated with the mating instinct. Spaying female pets before their first heat greatly reduces the risk of mammary cancers and helps to prevent the development of reproductive organ tumors. Additionally, neutering male pets reduces the risk of prostate cancer.

Act now to spay or neuter your pet and give them the gift of a longer and healthier life. Your action will also help to reduce the ever-growing number of homeless and unwanted animals in the community.

Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department offers low-cost spay and neuter services in Doral and Homestead. Animal Services also works with organizations like the Miami Veterinary Foundation to provide free and discounted services through grants and partnerships.

Call 311, schedule an appointment for surgery online or find a spay/neuter event. Talk to your veterinarian if you have any questions about the procedure.
