Cool off on a hot day at the South Dade Park Aquatic Center

A new $5.4 million aquatic complex is now open at South Dade Park, located at 28151 SW 164 Ave., Miami. The facility features a new multipurpose competitive/recreational swimming pool with zero-depth entry, eight 25-yard lap lanes and a water slide tower plus remodeled pool buildings.

“This new aquatic complex is going to be a favorite family gathering spot in South Dade,” said Commissioner Levine Cava. “Here residents and their children can enjoy healthy, safe pool recreation, with exciting options that include Learn2Swim, water exercise classes, and splash and play activities!”

The 8.61-acre park also features new U.S. Soccer Foundation & Target Soccer Mini Pitches, as well as basketball courts, a playground, a fitness zone, a skate park and a walkway. Miami-Dade Parks Fit2Play™ after-school and out-of-school/seasonal camps for kids and the Active Older Adults program are also offered at this site. Facility rentals are also available.

Funding was provided by the “Building Better Communities” General Obligation Bond (BBC-GOB) Program, Impact Fees and the Quality Neighborhood Improvement Program.
