Brenda Kuhns Neuman represents the Department Public of Housing and Community Development in the provision of affordable housing and economic and community development funding from federal, state and local sources. 

Her practice involves coordinating and closing large-scale, mixed-financing transactions for new construction and rehabilitation of affordable housing throughout Miami-Dade County, as well as advising departments on legislative matters, real estate transactions, awards of loans and grants, contract  negotiation and execution, and issues related to community redevelopment agencies. Brenda also handles legislative items, drafting ordinances and resolutions and advising the Board of County Commissioners on affordable housing and economic and community development matters. 

In addition to her transactional practice, Brenda defends the County in employee disciplinary actions, litigates cases involving the Public Housing and Community Development Department, and represents the County's law enforcement professionals.

During law school, Brenda was a Dean's Scholar, the Greenberg Traurig Scholar, and graduated Salutatorian (2nd) of her class.  Brenda spent the early part of her career as a teacher in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Boston, Massachusetts, and then as a copy editor and freelance reporter in Miami, Florida.
