Nicole Tallman, Director
Nicole Tallman serves as the Director of Policy and Legislative Affairs to Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez, a position she has held since April 2017. In addition to supervising the Policy and Legislative Affairs and the Intergovernmental Relations teams for the Office of the Mayor, she oversees matters related to the County's Intergovernmental Affairs, Charter Review, Agenda Office, Agenda Coordination, Property Appraiser, Commission Auditor, Commission on Ethics and Public Trust, and the Inspector General.
Ms. Tallman has more than 20 years of professional experience serving both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining the County as the Mayor's chief Speechwriter in October 2015, she served as the head of Internal Communications and Community Engagement in the President's Office at Miami Dade College. She has also held managerial-level communications positions at German multinational conglomerate Siemens, and served as the primary Spokesperson at the global headquarters of Michigan-based Haworth Inc.
An avid supporter of the arts and higher education, Ms. Tallman is actively involved with the Miami Book Fair and Miami International Film Festival, and she has taught and mentored low-income students who need additional support while persisting toward a college degree.
Ms. Tallman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and French from Grand Valley State University and a Master of Arts in English and Communications from the University of Central Florida.
