Cat License

You can buy a license for your cat at the Pet Adoption and Protection Center or at any of the 311 Service Centers. To identify your cat, it is best to microchip them since tags become worn and illegible and most cats are clever enough to take off their collar. While a license for your cat is not required, cats must be vaccinated against rabies per County regulation.

The tag is $5.

- Pet owner must be at least 18 years old and a Miami-Dade County resident.
- Proof of rabies vaccination must be provided.
You can buy a license for your cat that has not been spayed or neutered for $3.

You must provide the following:
- Receiving public assistance under one or more of the following and provide current eligibility letter.
  - Food Stamps
  - Medicaid
  - Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  - Jackson Memorial Hospital Clinic Cards
  - Temporary Assistance for Needed Families (TANF)
- The cat owner must provide proof that the cat has been vaccinated against rabies.
