What is Elder Abuse? Elder abuse is any act by a family member, friend or caretaker which causes mistreatment and neglect to an older individual. The abuse may be physical, social, financial, psychological or sexual.
If you or someone you know is a victim of abuse report it to police. You can also call to speak with a counselor concerning elder abuse, call the Miami-Dade Police Department's Special Victims Bureau at 305-418-7200.
