The public now has more access to the County with the new miamidade.gov, which launched on Tuesday, Jan. 15. The new interface and information structure allows users to quickly find essential government services and County information.
The responsive design is optimized for both desktop and mobile viewing, and includes a search feature that helps filter specific information. Users can also create a profile to receive mobile alerts, link to their Water and Sewer Department account, subscribe for weekly updates and more.
"The redesign of miamidade.gov further enhances government transparency and continues to transform the way the County communicates in a manner that is customer focused and service driven," said Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez.
The new website has been under development since 2016, with hundreds of pages being restructured and content rewritten to be more concise and easier to read. This simplified language has enhanced accessibility and optimized content to be machine readable by virtual assistants and other devices.
Feedback is encouraged, with a banner on every page allowing visitors to submit feedback. This feedback will help to optimize the website even more, allowing residents to play an active role in helping users find services and information more easily.
