Learn about the local ecosystem at Native Plant Day

Join the Dade Chapter of the Native Plant Society on Saturday, March 23 for Native Plant Day. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bill Sadowski Park. It is free and open to the public. There will be activities for all ages with workshops, displays, plants for sale and more.

Workshops will focus on native plants that attract wildlife and butterflies to your yard, native orchids, urban bee keeping, troubleshooting common plant problems, planting and pruning techniques and water conservation. Kids are invited to participate in their own plant sale, a scavenger hunt and more. Free kayaks, canoes and trail walks will be offered throughout the day.
