Miami-Dade Parks’ nationally recognized, award-winning, nature-based playgrounds are grounded in evidence which shows that connecting children to nature through play increases play value, encourages higher levels of physical activity, and improves environmental sustainability.

By providing nature-oriented spaces designed for climbing, audial engagement, building, searching, creating, imagining, socializing, and creatively immersing children to explore peripheral trails that connect to diverse natural habitats, these playgrounds are fostering the conservation and stewardship leaders of tomorrow.
