Internship Program
Animal Services

Miami-Dade County’s Animal Services Department offers an Internship Program designed to enrich the academic studies of students in high school and college through observation and participating in daily shelter duties.

Students wishing to complete an internship within our facility are encouraged to participate in numerous experiential learning activities that will support the agency’s mission while providing beneficial project-based assignments and hands-on experience geared towards the intern’s goals.

Through professional mentoring, students will have the opportunity to prepare and develop skills to better position themselves for future job opportunities.

College internship schedules will be established upon acceptance into the program. High school internships are created for the school year or summer. Animal Services will accommodate student and school requests for longer or shorter periods.

All internships are unpaid.
