Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) Program

Building the foundation for mobility improvements for all transportation system users

The Traffic Signals & Signs (TSS) Division of the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) is installing  a new state-of-the-art Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) to better enhance mobility for commuters, transit users, pedestrians, and bicyclists throughout Miami-Dade County.

This trailblazing program includes the upgrade of the County’s ATMS Central Software, replacement of approximately 3,000 controllers and installation of additional detection systems at signalized intersections.

The upgraded system will provide the platform to be able to implement strategies to enhance mobility for motorized and transit vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists to optimize mobility for all transportation system users.
