MDPD Emphasizes the Importance of ATV and Motorcycle Safety |

The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), along with Florida Highway Patrol, will host a presentation to raise awareness about motorcycles, All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV), and Off Highway Vehicles (OHV) safety. Safety tips on the proper usage of these vehicles, information about proper gear, locations where they can be safely and legally driven, as well as the laws which govern the usage of ATV's and motorcycles, will be provided. This year, due to their increasing popularity, we will include information on Off Highway Vehicles such as proper registration, safety equipment, and Florida State Statutes. In 2018, there were a total of 24 lives taken in ATV's, mopeds, and motorcycle crashes. The breakdown is as follows: (19) motorcycles, (3) mopeds, and (2) ATV's. This presentation is part of MDPD’s overall commitment to community safety. Media is invited to attend.
