Maritime Training Scenario

The Miami-Dade Police Department in collaboration with United States Customs & Border Protection, City of Miami Police Department, Broward County Sheriff's Office, and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue are conducting a full-scaled training exercise upon the waterways of PortMiami.  The training is part of an ongoing commitment to our community to ensure safety in the event of a maritime situation.  The exercise is comprised of several scenarios to include hostile vessel takeovers, whereby tactical officers will board vessels and will repel from helicopters onto ships that are underway.  The mission goal is to test our ability to merge multi-agencies first responders' response during a maritime incident.

This exercise is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 and Wednesday, July 10, 2019, between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. There will be an increased presence of participating law enforcement personnel and equipment in this area during the exercise. Lastly, this training is not open to the public and the specific training exercises will not be disclosed. Uniformed personnel are on-site for the training to provide additional public safety measures.
