The Miami-Dade Police Department, Robbery Bureau is investigating an armed carjacking that occurred in the parking lot of a school.
According to investigators, a teacher was approached by a subject as she entered her vehicle in the teacher’s parking lot. The subject was armed with a firearm, and demanded the vehicle keys. The victim handed the subject the keys and ran toward the school. A second subject entered the vehicle and both drove away; however, they didn’t get far. The subjects crashed the vehicle into a curb as the exited the parking lot, causing the vehicle to become disabled. Both subjects then exited the vehicle and fled on foot. There were no injuries reported.
Surveillance video captured the image of the subjects. Investigators are seeking the assistance of the community in identifying and/or locating these individuals.

Update #1: Investigators from the Robbery Bureau continued to follow all leads and with the collaboration from Miami-Dade County Public Schools Police Department who provided valuable surveillance footage, led to the identity of the two individuals involved. They have been placed under arrest and charged accordingly.
