The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau is investigating the unforeseen death of a man attending a holiday party.

According to investigators, the victim was sitting in the backyard of the residence when he was observed by party guests holding his chest.  Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) responded and determined that the victim had been shot. MDFR transported the victim to Kendall Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.  Investigators have determined that the shot was not fired from the party location, and are seeking the assistance of the community to provide any information that could lead to the identification and/or location of the individual responsible for the shooting.
