Armed Robbery

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Robbery Bureau is investigating an armed robbery that led to a shooting inside a food truck.

According to investigators, a subject armed with a firearm entered the rear of the food truck and ordered the female employee to the ground, while demanding money.  A male employee who ran toward the back of the truck was also confronted by the armed subject.  Sometime during the confrontation, the male employee armed himself with a firearm and shot the subject.  Meanwhile, two other males inside a nearby white vehicle, also fired in the victims direction and fled the scene.  As the subject fled from the truck, a passerby observed him running and was able to detain him.  The good samaritan then returned the injured subject to the original scene until police arrived.

Moments later, a male was driven in a white vehicle to JMH Ryder Trauma with a gunshot wound.  Detectives are questioning both individuals to determine their involvement, if any.  The victims were not injured.

The investigation remains active.

Update #1:  Further investigation revealed the two subjects that arrived at JMH Ryder in the white vehicle were involved.  The three subjects have been charged accordingly.
