Student Arrested After Making Threats To Shoot Up The School

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --

Officers from Miami-Dade Police Department, South District, responded to Palm Glades Preparatory Academy on a report of a threatening text received by some students.  When the first officers arrived, they assisted the teachers and administrators who were in the process of placing the school on lockdown as a precautionary measure.  The officers and faculty quickly conducted a search of the school and determined there was no imminent threat.

Miami-Dade Police detectives conducted an investigation and determined an 11th grade student at the school, Jason Davis, made the text threats.  Subsequently, Davis was arrested and booked in the Miami-Dade County, Juvenile Services Department.
