Miami-Dade Public Housing and Community Development will host "Closing In On 10,000 – A Housing Summit"
Miami-Dade County, through its Department of Public Housing and Community Development is hosting “Closing In On 10,000 – A Housing Summit” on Monday, October 7, 2019, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Chapman Center of Miami Dade College – Wolfson Campus, 300 N.E. Second Ave., Miami.
This will be a major gathering of community leaders, housing advocates, developers, affordable housing financing entities and government decision makers, focusing on actual affordable and workforce housing projects that are in progress in Miami-Dade County. The goal is to identify at least 10,000 new affordable/workforce units that are in those projects.
This summit’s focus will be on projects that will be in progress by November 2020 adding up to at least 10,000 new affordable and workforce units in Miami-Dade. Specific projects will represent Transit Oriented Developments (TOD), Elderly Housing, Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD), Accessory Dwelling Units and the building of housing on land used by schools. There will also be panel discussions on new financing tools and inclusive strategies to address changing neighborhoods.
