Roadway Construction Report for the week of December 20 – December 26, 2021

The following is a list of roadway construction/closure activities for the week of December 20, 2021 – December 26, 2021.

SW 137 Ave. from US-1 to SW 200 St. – Project No. 20180089 (Miami-Dade Commission District 8): Work consists of a new two lane roadway which will include, but is not limited to: sidewalks (for a portion of the project), curb and gutters, a continuous storm drainage system, signalization, pavement markings and signage, standard roadway lighting system, bicycle facilities, landscaping, a bridge crossing over Canal C-102, a culvert crossing at Canal C-102N, and the filling of the borrow pit at SW 240 Street within the right-of-way limits. Construction is anticipated to be completed by October 2022. Mainline Closure: Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route or follow the posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

SW 216 St. from SW 112 Ave. to SW 127 Ave. – Project No. 20180014 (Miami-Dade Commission Districts 9): The work consists of widening the existing roadway to a 2-lane divided highway with a raised landscaped median, bike lanes, on-street parking, a traffic circle, sidewalks, curb and gutter, a new storm drainage system, signalization, pavement markings and signage, and decorative street lighting. Construction is anticipated to be completed by March 2022. Mainline Closure: Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route or follow the posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route

Bridge Replacement at North Miami Avenue over Litter River Canal-Project No. 20160165 (Miami-Dade Commission District 3): Work includes but is not limited to the bridge replacement project is located along SW North Miami Avenue from NW 85 Street to NW 86 Street. The proposed project consists of replacing the bridge currently spanning the Little River Canal along North Miami Avenue, within Miami-Dade County, the City of Miami and the Village of El Portal, with a new bridge that will improve pedestrian facilities. The existing bridge will be replaced entirely with a new concrete bridge that provides 6-foot-wide raised concrete sidewalks on both sides while maintaining two lanes of traffic in each direction.  Construction is anticipated to be completed by March 2022. Lorah Park Elementary School at 5160 NW 31 Ave.  Safe Route to School Project # 20190265 (FM # 4381163-1) WO#3 (Miami-Dade Commission District 3): This project has been initiated to improve the traffic signalization conditions. The purpose of this work is to enable and encourage students in grades K-8 to walk and or bicycle to and from school to make walking and bicycling to school safer and more appealing, and to facilitate the planning, development, and implementation of projects that will improve safety and reduce traffic, fuel consumption, and air pollution in the vicinity of schools and includes  the Install new concrete for sidewalk and ramps, improving of traffic signals installation of school sings and striping.  This work started at the beginning of December 2020 and is anticipated to be completed by January 2022. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route or follow the posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

NE 20 Ct. from NE 206 Terr. to Ives Dairy Road and NE 20 Ct. from NE 201 Terr. to NE 199 St. – Project No. 20200233 WO#1 (Miami-Dade Commission District 4):  Work includes, but is not limited to, the construction and installation of drainage structures, French drains, swale blocks, miscellaneous drainage improvements, grading, sodding and roadway restoration, including construction of concrete curb and gutters, and sidewalks where needed, in accordance with the construction plans and specifications. Construction is anticipated to be completed by August 2021. Miami Ave. & N 95 St. Project No. 20200149 WO#6 (Miami-Dade Commission District 3): Traffic Signal Installation. Replacement of the existing Span Wire to a Mast arms; Work includes, but is not limited to, the construction and installation of mast arms assemblies, traffic controller, assembly , ground electrodes, conduits, pull boxes, foundations, pedestrian signal heads with push buttons and signs, overhead signs, traffic signal heads, internally illuminated street name signs, loop assemblies, signal cables, sidewalk and ramps, any ancillary work including, handicap ramps, ground mounted signs, pavement markings, construction of sidewalks, curb and gutter. This work started by the end of January 2021 and is anticipated to be completed by January 2022. NE 1 Ave. and South Biscayne River Dr. from NE 135 St. to NE 139 St. – Project No. 20200187 (Miami-Dade Commission District 2):  Work includes, but is not limited to, the construction and installation of drainage structures, French drains, swale blocks, miscellaneous drainage improvements, grading, sodding and roadway restoration, including construction of concrete curb and gutters, and sidewalks where needed, in accordance with the construction plans and specifications. Construction is anticipated to be completed by October 2021. SW 42nd Ave. over Coral Gables Canal (North of Cocoplum Circle) – Project No. 20190289-R (Miami-Dade Commission District 7):  The work consists of repairing deteriorated steel beam portions and includes the installation of steel support brackets and anchor bolts at pier caps, replacement of bearing and anchor bolts, cleaning and painting existing and new steel repair areas, and limited closure of bridge traffic on an as-needed basis during repairs. Construction is anticipated to be completed by February 2022. SW 142 Ave. & SW 268 St.  Project No. 202000150 WO#14 (Miami-Dade Commission District 9): Traffic Signal Installation; Work includes, but is not limited to, the construction and installation of mast arms assemblies, traffic controller, assembly , ground electrodes, conduits, pull boxes, foundations, pedestrian signal heads with push buttons and signs, overhead signs, traffic signal heads, internally illuminated street name signs, loop assemblies, signal cables, sidewalk and ramps, any ancillary work including, handicap ramps, ground mounted signs, pavement markings, construction of sidewalks, curb and gutter. Miami Ave. from SE 1 St. to NE  11 Ter. – SE 1 Ave. from SE 1 St. to NE 11 St. – NW 5 St. and NW 6 St. from NW 3 Ave. to NE 2 Ave. – Project No. 20200140 Improvement to Downtown Mobility Network (Miami-Dade Commission Districts 3 & 5): The scope of work includes milling and resurfacing, construction of ADA ramps and connectors, adjustment of valve boxes and manholes, pavement markings and signage. Construction is anticipated to be completed by January 2022. Detour: Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route or follow the posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

Drainage Improvements. Multiple Sites. WO#2 at SW 27 St. from SW 57 Ave. to SW 58 Ave. Project No. 20200215. (Miami-Dade Commission District 6):  Work includes, but is not limited to, the construction and installation of drainage structures, French drains, miscellaneous drainage improvements, grading, sodding, and roadway restoration, including construction of concrete curb and gutters, and sidewalks where needed, in accordance with the construction plans and specifications. Eneida M. Hartner Elementary School WO#2: (FM # 438147-1) Project No. 20190257 (Miami-Dade Commission District 3): This project has been initiated to improve the traffic signalization conditions. The purpose of this work is to enable and encourage students in grades K-8 to walk and or bicycle to and from school to make walking and bicycling to school safer and more appealing, and to facilitate the planning, development, and implementation of projects that will improve safety and reduce traffic, fuel consumption, and air pollution in the vicinity of schools and includes  the Install new concrete for sidewalk and ramps, improving of traffic signals installation of school sings and striping.  This work starts by the middle of May 2021 and is anticipated to be completed by January 2022. This work started by the end of June 2021 and is anticipated to be completed by the end of January 2022. SW 117 Ave. and SW 104 St. (Intersection Improvements) – Project No. 20190236 WO# 9 (Miami-Dade Commission District 7 and 8): The improvement at this location  includes trees removal;  clearing and grubbing; removal of curb and gutter; asphalt and sidewalks; drainage modification; base installation;  installation of new curb and gutter; sidewalks and connectors; milling and resurfacing; pavement markings; signage and sodding installation as well as any ancillary items associated with the project scope of work. Construction is anticipated to be completed by November 2021.

WO#4 at NE 23 Ct. from NE 187 Terr. to NE 185 St. Project No. 20200215 (Miami-Dade Commission District 4):  Work includes, but is not limited to, the construction and installation of drainage structures, French drains, miscellaneous drainage improvements, grading, sodding, and roadway restoration, including construction of concrete curb and gutters, and sidewalks where needed, and installation of check valve at Oleta River outfall, in accordance with the construction plans and specifications. Construction is anticipated to be completed by August 2021. The purpose of this work is to enable and encourage students in grades K-8 to walk and or bicycle to and from school to make walking and bicycling to school safer and more appealing, and to facilitate the planning, development, and implementation of projects that will improve safety and reduce traffic, fuel consumption, and air pollution in the vicinity of schools and includes  the Install new concrete for sidewalk and ramps, improving of traffic signals installation of school sings and striping.  This work will start by the beginning of July 2021 and is anticipated to be completed by January 2022. This work started by the beginning of August 2021 and is anticipated to be completed by end of January 2022. NW 41 St. from NW 114 Ave. to HEFT Florida Turnpike. – Project No. 20190211 WO# 10 (Miami-Dade Commission District 12): The scope of work includes the following:  milling and resurfacing, construction of ADA ramps and connectors, adjustment of valve boxes and manholes, pavement markings and signage. SW 22 Ave. from US-1. to Coral Way (Intersection Improvements) – Project No. 20200251 (Miami-Dade Commission District 5): The project consists in the Median Modification along SW 22nd Avenue including clearing and grubbing; milling and resurfacing to incorporated buffered bicycle lanes, improve traffic separators; repair damaged sidewalks; new pavement markings and signage installation; regrading and sodding, as well as any ancillary items associated with the project scope of work. Construction is anticipated to be completed by January 2022.

NW 97 Ave. from NW 41 St. to NW 52 St. – Project No. 20200096 WO# 5 (Miami-Dade Commission District 12): The scope of work includes the following: milling and resurfacing, construction of ADA ramps and connectors, adjustment of valve boxes and manholes, pavement markings and signage. Construction is anticipated to be completed by December 2021. Detour: Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route or follow the posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

SW 97 Ave. And SW 120 St. (Intersection Improvements) – Project No. 20200255-R (Miami-Dade Commission District 8): The project consists in the improvement of Traffic Circle located at SW 97 Ave and SW 120 Street, including clearing and grubbing; improving the geometry of the NE corner on the existing Traffic Circle; installing new pedestrian crossing; drainage installation; refurbishing pavement including milling; resurfacing; pavement markings; sodding; installation of two Warning Flashers and upgrading lighting at the Traffic Circle, as well as any ancillary items associated with the project scope of work. Construction is anticipated to be completed by February 2022. 

NE 16 Ave. from NE 151 St. to NE 163 St. – Project No. 20200107 WO# 6 (Miami-Dade Commission District 2): The scope of work includes the following: milling and resurfacing, construction of ADA ramps and connectors, adjustment of valve boxes and manholes, pavement markings and signage. NW 32 Ave. and NW 179 St. (Intersection Improvements) – Project No. 20200031 WO #5 (Miami-Dade Commission District 1): The scope of work consists of construction of Traffic Circle to improve traffic conditions at the intersection and is not limited to, clearing and grubbing, Traffic Circle construction, drainage installation, construction of new curb and gutter and sidewalks, pedestrian ramps and connectors, milling and resurfacing, adjustment of manholes and valves, signage and pavement markings installation, sodding, as well as any ancillary items associated with the project scope of work. Construction is anticipated to be completed by January 2022

NW 11 St. and NW 30 Ave. (Intersection Improvements) – Project No. 20200031 WO #1 (Miami-Dade Commission District 5): The scope of work consists of construction of Traffic Circle to improve traffic conditions at the intersection and is not limited to, clearing and grubbing, Traffic Circle construction, drainage installation, construction of new curb and gutter and sidewalks, pedestrian ramps and connectors, milling and resurfacing, adjustment of manholes and valves, signage and pavement markings installation, sodding, as well as any ancillary items associated with the project scope of work. Construction is anticipated to be completed by December 2022.

NW 22 Ave. from NW 190 Terr. to 196 Terr.  – Project No. 20200096 WO #6 (Miami-Dade Commission District 1): The scope of work includes the following: milling and resurfacing, construction of ADA ramps and connectors, adjustment of valve boxes and manholes, pavement markings and signage. Construction is anticipated to be completed by January 2022. Detour: Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route or follow the posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

SW 216 St. from Old Cutler Rd. to FL Turnpike.  – Project No. 20190280 WO #8 (Miami-Dade Commission District 9): The scope of work includes the following: milling and resurfacing, construction of ADA ramps and connectors, adjustment of valve boxes and manholes, pavement markings and signage. Construction is anticipated to be completed by February 2022. Detour: Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route or follow the posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

NW 97th Ave. from NW 58th St. to NW 70th St.- Project No. 20200117 (Miami-Dade Commission Districts 12): Work consists of widening the existing roadway from two (2) lanes to a four (4) lane divided roadway. Work also includes, but is not limited to sidewalks, curb and gutters, bike lanes, continuous storm drainage system, pavement markings and signage, signalization, lighting and landscaping.Construction is anticipated to be completed by May 2023. Mainline Closure: Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route or follow the posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

NW 22 Ave. from NW 151 St. to NW 163 St.  – Project No. 20200096 WO #7 (Miami-Dade Commission District 1): The scope of work includes the following: milling and resurfacing, construction of ADA ramps and connectors, adjustment of valve boxes and manholes, pavement markings and signage. Construction is anticipated to be completed by January 2022. Detour: Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route or follow the posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

Venetian CSWY from Herald Plaza to Purdy Ave. (Intersection Improvements)  – Project No. 20210065 (Miami-Dade Commission District 3 and 4): The scope of work includes the installation of Bicycle Lane Separator type Zicla, Zebra 9 Zero and pavement marking installation as described on the plans, also includes inspection and maintenance of the facility for a period of one year after the installation period, as well as any ancillary items associated with the project scope of work. Construction is anticipated to be completed by February 2022.

NW 107 Ave. from NW 58 St. to NW 74 St. – Project No. 20200106 WO #5 (Miami-Dade Commission District 12): The scope of work includes the following: milling and resurfacing, construction of ADA ramps and connectors, adjustment of valve boxes and manholes, pavement markings and signage. Construction is anticipated to be completed by December 2021. Detour: Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route or follow the posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

SW 137 Ave. from SW 74 St. to SW 79 St. (Intersection Improvements) – Project No. 20190236 WO #5(Miami-Dade Commission District 10): The project is located at SW 137 Avenue from SW 74 Street to SW79 Street within Miami-Dade County Commission District 10. The scope of work intended to improve traffic conditions along SW 137 Avenue and is not limited to, clearing, and grubbing, widening, construction of new curb and gutter and sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, and connectors, milling and resurfacing, adjustment of manholes and valves, signage and pavement markings installation, sodding, as well as any ancillary items associated with the project scope of work. Construction is anticipated to be completed by April 2022.

SW 80 St. from Ponce de Leon Blvd. to Old Cutler Rd – Project No. 20190338 WO #4 (Miami-Dade Commission District 7): The scope of work includes the following: milling and resurfacing, construction of ADA ramps and connectors, adjustment of valve boxes and manholes, pavement markings and signage. Construction is anticipated to be completed by February 2022. Detour: Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route or follow the posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.
