Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava to send off Miami-Dade Water and Sewer staff volunteers to Ft. Myers Beach to assist with Hurricane Ian infrastructure repairs

MIAMI ( October 06, 2022 )

On Friday, October 7, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava will help send off more than 20 water utility professionals from the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD). These individuals, who are specialized in different fields, will assist the Ft. Myers Beach water utility to repair damage to their infrastructure. For the next week, Miami-Dade Water and Sewer first responders will be assisting the city with re-establishing water services by evaluating the water distribution system and repairing leaks, in addition to troubleshooting and repairing two critical booster stations. WASD will also transport their own supplies and vehicles including two dump trucks, two trailers, two compressors, and two back hoes, as well as their own diesel fuel truck. In the coming weeks, WASD hopes to continue these vital recovery support efforts to reestablish water and sewer services to impacted communities.
