Commissioner Keon Hardemon

The Honorable Keon Hardemon was raised in the Liberty City neighborhood of Miami-Dade County. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Management and an MBA from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. He worked at Pfizer Inc., one of the world's largest biopharmaceutical companies, before deciding to enroll in law school at the University of Miami School of Law.

Commissioner Keon Hardemon is hosting a rededication of a state road co-designation, which honors the life and legacy of the late Father Gerard Jean-Juste. The rededication will take place on Wednesday, May 22, at 10 a.m., at 166 NW 54th St., Miami, FL 33127 (near Chef Creole Seasoned Kitchen).

This marks an occasion to remember and celebrate the impactful legacy of Father Gerard Jean-Juste, a beloved figure known for his unwavering dedication to social justice and community empowerment. The event will be held on Monday, May 27, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Caribbean Marketplace, 5925 NE 2nd Ave., Miami, FL 33137.

Miami-Dade County Kicks Off Tree Planting Initiative at the Joseph Caleb Center

Commissioner Keon Hardemon and Mayor Daniella Levine Cava kicked off Miami-Dade County's new tree planting initiative at the Joseph Caleb Center in Liberty City. The program aims to lower heat temperatures and heat-related risks by covering 30 percent of the county with tree canopies by 2030.
