Mayor's Emergency Orders

Emergency Order 17-20
April 2
Orders essential commercial and retail establishments that provide unpackaged food for consumption to limit capacity and monitor entrances and exits in areas where food is sold. Also orders closing of salad bars, self-serve food stations (except pre-packaged grab and go items) and encourages sanitary practices for employees and customers.

Adult Day Cares within the unincorporated and incorporated areas of the County are hereby ordered to close, or otherwise cease all programs to deliver personal services to the elderly.

Orders the closure of common-use amenities at commercial and non-commercial locations.

Orders the following: All laws, statutes, codes and regulations relating to County employees performing building code functions are suspended, including, but not limited to, the review of plans, issuance of permits, performance of inspections and issuance of certificates of occupancy and completion and temporary certificates of occupancy, and all activities related thereto.

Orders that all essential businesses currently open use reasonable efforts to ensure customers and employees maintain appropriate social distancing.

Orders that the totality of Emergency Orders issued by Miami-Dade County, as may be amended or issued from time to time, shall be referred to as the SAFER AT HOME protocols. All residents and visitors are urged to remain in their homes other than to engage in essential activities, as allowed through previous Emergency Orders.

Urges persons over 65 years of age or have a serious underlying medical condition to stay home and take such other measures as necessary to limit their risk of exposure to COVID-19.

Amendment No. 1 to Emergency Order 09-20 (no new reservations for hotels, motels, short-term vacation rentals)

Effective March 26, hotels and other commercial lodging establishments shall not accept any occupants or extend existing reservations, except for essential lodgers.
