File a Complaint Against Corrections Employees

Complaints involving staff are accepted at all facilities from any source regardless of the location of the alleged occurrences. You may also submit a complaint anonymously.

Complaints can be submitted in person, by telephone or by mail.

  • Complaint Review Process

Cases can take up to 6 months to review based on the following:

    • Nature and complexity of the case.
    • Availability of witnesses.
    • Involvement of other investigating agencies such as the State Attorney’s Office, federal and local law enforcement.
  • Complaint Notification Process

The person making the complaint (complainant) and the subject of the complaint will be notified in writing via US mail when the review/investigation is completed.

Both the complainant and subject are encouraged to contact us to discuss the progress and/or completion of the case file.

Under Florida Public Records Law, all completed (closed) cases become public record after the disposition is finalized and available for review during normal business hours.
