Canoeing

Take a leisurely paddle down the C-100 canal, explore the history of Coral Gables, immerse yourself in the remarkable beauty of mangrove forest along Biscayne Bay and relive the Oleta River historic past all aboard a canoe.

Essential equipment to participate is provided for our Water Adventures.

  • Coral Gables Waterway Canoe Tour

    Explore the history of Coral Gables in this leisurely canoe paddle through the City Beautiful. This guided tour will teach you all about the man-made waterway's delightful blend of unique vistas, abundant wildlife and historic landmarks.

    This program is roughly 3.5 miles long and lasts 2.5 hours including transportation time. The Coral Gables Waterway Canoe Tour is for ages 9 or older.

    Regular route not available Nov. 15 to April 30 during manatee breeding season. Alternate route is roughly 2.5 miles long and lasts 2.5 hours including transportation time.

  • Matheson Mangrove Canoe Trek

    Immerse yourself in the remarkable beauty of the Biscayne Bay as you travel with your naturalist guide through the mangrove forest, the world's only salt-water trees. You'll discover a world filled with brown pelicans, osprey, great blue herons, nurse sharks, sting rays and more. This is one adventure you'll never forget.

    This program is roughly 2.3 miles long and lasts 2 hours. The Matheson Mangrove Canoe Trek is for ages 9 or older.

  • Bill Sadowski Park Canoe Tour

    Take a leisurely paddle down the C-100 canal as you canoe your way from Bill Sadowski Park to Coral Reef Park and back. Many interesting things can be seen along the way such as exotic fish, hunting osprey and various other animals along this blue stretch and its banks.

    This activity is roughly 3.2 miles long and lasts 2 hours. The Bill Sadowski Park Canoe Tour is for ages 9 or older.

  • Oleta River Canoe Tour

    Amidst the hustle and bustle of city life in Miami, the Oleta River is an unchanged beacon for wildlife. Relive the river's historic past with park naturalists as you explore the transition of ecosystems in this natural haven for wading birds, osprey, fish and the endangered manatee.

    This program is roughly 4.7 miles long and lasts 2.5 hours. The Oleta River Canoe Tour is for ages 9 or older.
