Tours

Hike through a tropical forest and learn about the native Tequesta tribe. Share a nighttime encounter with animals, followed by a campfire marshmallow roast. Take a ride through the Everglades or walk through haunted woods with experienced investigators.

Most tours are open to all ages. Closed-toe shoes are required to participate in tours.

To request material in accessible format, information on access for persons with disabilities or sign language interpreter services (seven days in advance) call Accessibility Services or TDD.

  • Everglades Scenic Safari

    Join a naturalist on this exciting sight-seeing van tour through the Florida Everglades. Bring your own camera and you'll be sure to snap some unique photos of the various wildflowers, butterflies, birds and other creatures that call this unique environment their home.

    This program meets and departs from the Sense of Wonder Nature Center in A.D. Barnes Park. To make a request to meet and depart from another location, call the Main Office.

    Everglades Scenic Safari is for all ages. Rates vary and a private program is available. Call Main Office for details.

  • Investigative Ghost Tour

    Join park naturalists and Messengers Paranormal to explore the haunted woods of historic Arch Creek Park on this supernatural walking tour. Before the walk, hear paranormal experiences and see evidence captured by seasoned investigators.

    This program is not recommended for children under 9.

  • Creatures of the Night

    Learn about the mysteries of the night and see what lurks around the park when the lights go out at Greynolds Park. Naturalists will guide you through the park nature trails in search of its nocturnal residents including eastern screech owls, raccoons, night spiders and more.

  • Archaeology History Walk

    Bring the family to explore the fascinating past of Arch Creek Park on this child-friendly adventure! Naturalist guides will take you on a hike through a tropical hardwood hammock where you will learn all about the native Tequesta tribe. After the hike, take a hands-on approach to discovery with a demonstration at a mock excavation site, and learn the true value of historical and archaeological sites.

    Enjoy an evening of discovery in the world of owls! Start the night with a presentation all about these nocturnal birds before entering the nature trails with a guide to search for them. Observe the difference of the park after dark and encounter other nocturnal natives such as raccoons and night spiders.

    Take a night-time stroll into some of the various natural ecosystems of South Florida alongside a naturalist guide to discover the marvelous nocturnal life of the park at dusk. Experience the sights and sounds of a variety of birds, raccoons, night spiders and many more nocturnal natives.
