As a volunteer or intern, you will interact with people, learn new skills and share your knowledge about the environment. You can volunteer at any of our six nature center locations. Community service or service learning hours are available.

You must be at least 16 years old and love nature.
Nature Center and Adventure Internship Care for our living collections of fish, reptiles and small mammals. You will assist with adventure programs, teach nature center environmental educational programs for audiences of all ages and provide interpretive tours, school programs and more!
Summer Camp Internship (Counselor In-Training) Teach a variety of environmental education programs, both on and off-site during an intensive environmental summer camp. Serve as a responsible counselor and positive role model for campers, lead games, activities, crafts and assist counselors with field trips to locations such as beaches, swamps and parks.
Sales and Business Internship Assist in administrative operations of EcoAdventures. Schedule programs, work with staff and customers to specifically tailor programs and ensure that their needs are met.
Sea Turtle Internship Monitor beaches within an assigned zone for sea turtle nesting activity. Report data to staff and enter information in computer system's database. Minimum of a college senior in a biological or environmental science, with BS or BA preferred. Interest in field biology and willingness to work under adverse field conditions at night or early hours.

Protection from the sun (long shirts/pants, water, hats, and sunglasses are highly recommended)

15 to 17 - Academic Volunteers for Community Service
18 years and older (Adults and Groups)
Nature Center Volunteer Welcome visitors and, provide information and guided tours or assist with programs. Training is provided.
Fairs and Festivals Volunteer Attend select community events to promote the work of Miami EcoAdventures, interact with attendees, distribute publications and promote the importance and benefits of volunteering.
Horticulture Volunteer Assist with horticultural maintenance of our butterfly gardens, trails and other select locations.
Concierge volunteer Deliver, place and monitor collateral and promotional materials in various hotels, visitor centers and other locations.
Volunteer Workdays For a one-time experience, participate in EcoAction Days, monthly volunteer event. Help protect and restore natural areas at our nature centers and elsewhere in Miami-Dade County. Join our naturalists in restoring the park and its natural areas with projects that include weed or invasive exotic vegetation removal, planting, mulching and garbage clean up.
