Miami-Dade County's Ryan White Program distributes federal grant funds to HIV/AIDS service organizations, community-based clinics, public hospitals (for outpatient services), and educational institutions.
More than 9,000 people living with HIV are served. The Ryan White Program must always be the payor of last resort.
Ryan White Program services include:
- Outpatient medical care
- Prescription drugs
- Oral health care
- Substance abuse counseling and treatment (outpatient and residential)
- Mental health counseling
- Medical case management
- Health insurance assistance
- Legal assistance
- Food assistance (food bank)
- Transportation services (vouchers)
- Outreach services
The 2017-2021 Miami-Dade County Integrated HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care Plan details goals and strategies to combat HIV and AIDS.
