Sign up to receive free alerts, which enables County residents or visitors to receive emergency texts or emails regarding public safety issues, recommended public protective actions or other emergency information.

Staying informed during an imminent threat or emergency is critical in helping to make the right decision for you and your family. Receiving alerts will provide you with guidance in making informed decisions.

  • Emergency Alerts
    Sign up for free emergency alerts and we'll notify you about weather emergencies such as tornado, tropical storm or hurricane warnings issued by the National Weather Service or any other emergency that may require public protective actions. In the event of an emergency, you'll get a message or email with details.
     
  • Marina Alerts
    Sign up for free marina alerts and we'll notify you about boat ramp closures and re-openings and when hazardous weather is approaching so that you will have time to secure your vessel.
     
  • Transit Rider Alerts
    Sign up for free transit rider alerts and we will notify you about disruptions to our transit system. In the event of a disruption, you will receive a message with details on the device of your choice. Just tell us how you would like to receive these messages.

    Opt in: Users must opt in to this service to receive SMS messages by texting Join MDC to short code 34292. 

    Opt out: Users may opt out of this service by texting STOP to short code 34292. All notification SMS messages from short code 34292 will cease.

    When you opt-in to the service, we will send you a message to confirm your signup. Text JOINMD to 305311 to receive Miami-Dade County messages. Data rates may apply. You will receive 5 messages a month. Text HELP for help. Text STOP to cancel.

    You can cancel this service at any time. Just text STOP to 305311. After you send the message STOP to us, we will send you a reply message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending messages to you again.

    If at any time you forget what keywords are supported, just text HELP to 305311. After you send the message HELP to us, we will respond with instructions on how to use our service as well as how to unsubscribe.
