The 2020 Census is coming. Learn how you can ensure Miami-Dade Counts!

Our parks have beaches located in four parks:

Special Events
To host a special event or beach wedding at one of our beaches, contact the park manager in which the beach is located.

Each wedding is addressed on an individual basis. There are County approved fees that will be accessed.

  • Accessing the Beach for People with Disabilities

We welcome people with disabilities to our beautiful sandy beach areas.

    Beach access areas
There are five pathways that provide access for people with disabilities from the beach road onto the beach at Haulover Beach and Crandon Beach. Showers and concession stands are wheelchair accessible.

    Beach wheelchairs available
If you are unable to walk, four beach wheelchairs are available at Haulover Beach and Crandon Beach. There is no charge to use the beach wheelchair. However, you might be asked to leave something of value (your wheelchair, driver's license, photo I.D., keys etc.) to ensure that it will be returned.

The beach wheelchair requires a friend or family member to push it. Our staff is not able to move you from your wheelchair into the beach wheelchair. Also, they can't push you around in it.

From April to October, the beach wheelchairs are available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. From November to March, they are available from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Check with our staff to know what time you must return the chair.

The beach wheelchair is on a first come, first served basis. Calling in advance can help decrease your wait time for a beach wheelchair. Remember, it is available to whoever arrives first, not to the first caller.

For your safety, stay close to the shore because the wheels can cause the beach wheelchair to float. The beach wheelchair can go into water no more than six inches deep.

  • Beach warning flags

Flags will let you know of surf conditions in our swimming areas for your safety.

These are the flag colors we use and the meaning of each:

    • Green: Low hazard, calm conditions
    • Yellow: Medium hazard, moderate surf and/or currents
    • Red: High hazard, rough conditions, strong surf and/or currents
    • Red over Red: Water closed to the public
    • Purple: Marine animals present
  • Regulations & Compliance

    • No flotation devices are allowed on our beaches.
    • Fires are only allowed in an approved grill, stove or fireplace.
      • Do not leave the area without first putting out the fire.
    • Styrofoam items are not allowed on the beach.
