Frontline Leadership Development Program (FLDP)

The Frontline Leadership Development Program focuses on employees in non-management job classifications. These employees provide direct and indirect critical government services to the residents and visitors of Miami-Dade County. In support of the programs that have been launched in the past, this program will have the greatest impact on Countywide employee development and customer service because it will support the development of employees who directly interact with our residents.

The program is by invitation only and runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Human Resources Department will contact eligible employees to be scheduled for this training program. The FLDP was developed by Miami Dade College in collaboration with Miami-Dade County's Human Resources department. It is tailored specifically to the County's talent development needs, as the program provides a customized curriculum that offers tools and strategies to meet the unique challenges Miami-Dade County employees face in the workplace. The information provided by this program is well-aligned with the County's vision and focus on transparency, efficiency and fiscal responsibility. The curriculum follows the latest trends in adult learning and creates a dynamic, interactive learning experience for the participants. The FLDP is a one-day program focusing on four leadership competencies: customer service, communication, problem solving and technical credibility, and continual learning.

Upon completion of this certificate program, participants will:

  • Understand the importance of serving County customers at the highest level
  • Prioritize the customer's needs and exceed them
  • Learn how to create a customer-driven culture
  • Develop the skills to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Learn methods of problem-solving in the workplace
  • Understand the importance of continual learning for continuous performance improvement
