Small Claims Court Presentations

Please note: As of January 1, 2020, the dollar amount for Small Claims Court disputes has been raised to $8,000 or less, excluding costs, interest and attorneys' fees.

Free sessions on how to file in Small Claims Court are being offered at different locations across Miami-Dade County. The entire Small Claims Court process is described step-by-step, from the initial filing through collection on a judgment, for claims of $8,000 or less.

This is an educational presentation only. NO legal advice will be provided on your specific case. Sample legal forms are provided, however, cases will not be heard at this time, nor will paperwork of any kind be filled out.

Presentations are conducted in English, but electronic versions of the presentation are available in both English and Spanish. Presentations are approximately 90 minutes in length. All presentations are free, open to the public, and reservations are not required.
