Proposed Budget Hearing Accommodations

The second FY 2019-20 Proposed Budget public hearing will take place Thursday, Sept. 19 at 5:01 p.m. at the Stephen P. Clark Center.

Special provisions are being made as follows:

Security

New mandatory security screening will be located at the entrance of the SPCC lobby. All public participants and County employees will be screened, and building entrances and exits will be restricted.

There will be a security officer at each elevator bank to restrict non-County employees from going to the upper floors. Employees are reminded to display their County ID badge at all times in order to access the upper floors, which will be closed to the public. The stairwells will be locked at 9 p.m.

Overflow Space

Conference room 18-4 located on the 18th floor of the SPCC will be set up as an overflow area for County staff only. Monitors will be televising the budget hearing and the rooms will have wireless connection to the County network. A County ID badge is required at all times in order to access the upper floors.

Food Court

Bottega Grill Café located on the ground floor of the SPCC will remain open until 8 p.m.

Parking

The following parking garages will be available during the budget hearings. All facilities will remain open one hour after the conclusion of the budget hearing.

  • Miami-Dade Cultural Center Parking Garage located at 50 NW 2nd Avenue
  • Hickman Garage located at 270 NW 2nd Street
  • West Lot Garage located at 220 NW 3rd Street

If you have any questions or concerns, please call the SPCC Building Manager at 305-375-2616.

Transit

Metrorail and Metromover service will be extended, as needed, if the budget hearing ends after regular operating hours (midnight).

Metrorail parking facilities also will remain open at least one hour after the last trains depart from the Government Center Station. It is recommended that County employees and the general public proceed to the Government Center Station platform immediately following the hearing.
