Any company or individual who seeks to provide transportation for compensation must be licensed, drivers trained and insured, and their vehicles registered, insured and inspected.
The Inspection Station will receive customers Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. However, if you are placing a new vehicle in service or replacing your current vehicle, you will have to bring the vehicle for inspection before 1 p.m.
Please note that you will be required to stay inside your vehicle during the inspection. Also, you must wear facial coverings during the entire inspection.
Please make sure that you have with you a copy of the vehicle registration and insurance certificate.

The types of vehicles that require inspection include:
- Taxicabs
- Limousines
- Passenger Motor Carriers
- Non-Emergency
- Special Transportation Service (STS)
- Ambulances
- Child Transport Vans and Private School Buses
Vehicle Operating Permit Application must be presented at vehicle inspection.
All Vehicle Operating Permit Applications signed by individuals other than the Permit/Certificate holder must have an active power of attorney on file with the Passenger Transportation Regulatory Division. An original, completed form must be presented at vehicle inspection.
Vehicles are inspected for compliance with specific vehicle standards contained in the Code. These include, but are not limited to brakes, tires, headlights, turn signals, horn, brake lights, cleanliness, and other safety and cosmetic components.
Decorative/advertising decals or complete wrapping of one or more windows are prohibited on vehicles regulated under the various for-hire and other transportation related ordinances.Vehicles are scheduled for annual, semi-annual or quarterly inspection according to vehicle age as outlined in the various transportation ordinances, or as a result of citations issued by field enforcement personnel.
A vehicle which does not pass the inspection as a result of a safety deficiency will not be allowed to conduct for-hire operations until the deficiency has been corrected and the vehicle passes a re-inspection.

- Quarterly, semi-annual or annual vehicle inspection, as applicable (all categories) $38.00

- Vehicle Re-Inspection (non-safety) $20.00
- Replacement Decal* $35.00
*There is a replacement fee for lost, stolen or destroyed operating permits or decals.
A notarized Lost/Stolen or Destroyed Permit/Inspection Decal Affidavit with applicable fees must be presented at vehicle for inspection.
Payment
Inspection fees are payable at the time of inspection or re-inspection and must be sent via check, credit card or money order. Cash payments are not accepted.
